bZ4X, TOYOTA’S FIRST ELECTRIC SUV
Toyota has begun production of its first 100% electric SUV, expected in dealerships by mid-May 2022. The bZ4X joins Toyota’s portfolio of electrified vehicles (hybrids, plug-in hybrids and fuel cells), which together account for nearly 40% of all alternative-powered vehicles sold in Canada. Toyota plans to offer 70 electrified models worldwide by 2025. First to be built on the e-TNGA platform dedicated to EVs, the bZ4X is equipped with a high-capacity lithium-ion battery placed flat under the floor, giving it a low centre of gravity. The manufacturer estimates a range of 400 km for the front-wheel drive XLE version. Comfort, driving pleasure and safety are all on the agenda with Toyota Safety Sense™ (TSS 3.0), the new AWD with XMODE(R) and Grip-Control as well as various systems and equipment developed to reduce energy consumption in cold weather.
