The VW ID.4 will be good for some 420 km

German manufacturer Volkswagen recently confirmed that its 2021 ID.4 Pro was recognized by the EPA with a range rating of 260 miles (419 km). The ID.4 Pro has the larger 82-kwh battery pack powering a single-motor rear-wheel-drive. This configuration beats the range of the ID.4 Pro S and 1st Edition. Volkswagen of America confirmed these results and explains them by a matter of less standard equipment resulting in a lower curb weight. VW also says that the ID.4 can get from a 5% to an 80% charge in less than 40 minutes. In 2022, some ID.4 models with a smaller 62-kwh battery pack will join the lineup as production will ramp up for the North American market at VW’s Chattanooga, Tennessee plant.
