Ford gets Best Green Innovation and Best Technical Innovation awards from AJAC

Every year, the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) presents award to participating car manufacturers for their specific «green» and technical innovations. This year, Ford got two awards. The first one is called the Green Innovation for environmentally oriented technologies. In this case, it’s the PowerBoost powertrain that earned Ford the award. It consists of the mating of the EcoBoost V6 engine to an electric motor developing together 430 horsepower and 579 lb.-ft. of torque. The fuel saving hybrid combo is available in every Ford F-150 model.

The second award, the Best Technical Award, was given to Ford for its Pro Power On Board System the features electrical outlets in the bed of the F-150 pick-up. It comes in three versions : 2.4 kWh for regular engines (except the base V-6) and 2.0 or 7.2 kWh for the hybrid version of the F-150.
