Honda preparing two EVs with GM
American Honda Motor Co. recently unveiled it would be obtaining two electric crossovers from its recently announced partnership with General Motors for the 2024 model year. That will lead to the first two volume products to emerge from the arrangement.
Yet, Honda fans must not fear since, under the product-sharing plan, GM would only create the propulsion systems for the vehicles. According to Dave Gardner, American Honda’s executive vice president of national operations in a phone conference with reporters, everything above the platform will be uniquely Honda and uniquely Acura. Still, he did not want to specify where the exact line of separation would be between GM’s propulsion platform and the finished vehicles Honda and Acura will come up with through the partnership.
