Hyundai unveals its Ioniq 5

South Korean automaker Hyundai unvealed last week one of its most important electric cars in the company’s 45 years of history in car making, the Ioniq 5. It also launches a distinct brand within the manufacturer, Ioniq now being dedicated to electric cars only.

The 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 is the first of many models to be built on Hyundai’s E-GMP dedicated EV platform. It includes a long list of technology firsts for the company—mashed up with design nods to the past, functionality innovation, and features that should assume the future of this fresh face. Obvioulsy, the design of the car is based on Hyundai’s 45 Concept idea car that was first unveiled at the 2019 Frankfurt Auto Show.
