The first BrightDrop EV600s go to FedEx
American car maker General Motors recently unveiled its BrightDrop EV600 all-electric delivery van that will be produced at its CAMI plant in Ingersoll, Ontario. The EV600 is the manufacturer’s first mass-produced product newly launched BrightDrop brand. This new brand will provide not only electric vehicles but also software solutions and other services to delivery and logistics companies. The purpose-built light commercial delivery van should be powered by GM’s Ultium modular battery system and will allow it to travel up to 400 kilometers on a full charge.
The first batch of BrightDrop EV600 vans is scheduled to go to FedEx later this year. GM is expected to make more of the EV600 vans available to other customers starting in early 2022.
