Harley-Davidson Offers Free Charging to Livewire Owners in US

Harley-Davidson announced that it will provide the equivalent of 500 kWh of free charging at Electrify America stations for a year to new LiveWire electric motorcycle customers. The LiveWire, in development since 2014, is scheduled to go on sale next month for in the US for 29,799 USD.

The bike will have a 225 km range according to the company. The 500 kwh of charging for is likely to give riders up to 6,400 km of free juice.

Electrify America is funded and run by Volkswagen, as a separate entity. It is scheduled to have nearly 2,000 public charging stations across the country by 2025. Harley-Davidson joins VW divisions Audi and Porsche, as well as startup EV maker Lucid Motors by offering free charging with Electrify America to compete with Tesla’s Supercharging network.
