Dyson Reveals Patent Drawings for EV
Vacuum-Maker Dyson first announced plans to make an EV in 2017. They are making good on their word. They made public several patent drawing for a crossover SUV with three rows of seats. It would compete directly against the Tesla Model X.
Dyson earmarked over $2.5 billion for its automotive division. Former Infiniti boss Roland Krueger leads the division of approximately 500 staff. Production will be based at a new plant in Singapore. The site is expected to be ready in 2020 with vehicle production planned for 2021.
The drawings “don’t reveal what our vehicle will really look like or give any specifics around what it will do,” but they do “provide a glimpse of some of the inventive steps” according to an email sent to staff, and obtained by Bloomberg.
No word if the EV will include an integrated vacuum.
