Tesla Unveils its New Model Y
As usual, Tesla’s boss, Elon Musk, likes to surprise the auto world with new products. His latest unveiling is that of the Model Y, an all-electric compact SUV that should be available by fall 2020 (though Tesla is known not to respect its own deadlines). First offered as a long-range vehicle (300 miles or 480 km), it will soon be followed by a more affordable shorter-range version (230 miles or 370 km) and a high-performance version capable of reaching 60 mph (96 km/h) in some 3.5 seconds. All-wheel drive will be available.
