China’s ‘EV father’ calls for more hydrogen infrastructure to develop fuel cell vehicles

China needs to strengthen its hydrogen distribution infrastructure to accelerate the development of its fuel cell vehicle industry, a senior government industrial policy adviser said at a Tuesday’s conference.

“Experience tells us that the most important thing for the development of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles is to build an infrastructure that integrates the production, storage and transport of hydrogen,” said Wan Gang, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, at a conference in Boao, China.

This is important to “accelerate commercial applications of the technology,” he said, according to a transcript provided by the conference organizer.
