Norway, the World Leader in EV Adoption

Norway has only 5.26 million people. But per capita, Norway has more electric car owners in the world. As of October 2018, 10% of vehicles where plug-in electrics.

Many factors have contributed but the choice to purchase an EV is seen as primarily economic. Through incentives, vehicle taxes, and fuel taxes, electric vehicles are less expensive than their combustion counterparts.

Norway has a tightly knit web of electric-car charging stations. EVs can use toll highways for no-charge. There are no purchase taxes or vehicle registration fees on EVs.
