Extreme E Electric SUV Racing Announced

Formula E plans to launch a new series focused on electric off-road vehicles called Extreme E. The first race is scheduled for January 2021.

Venturi, a Monaco-based electric vehicle company and current Formula E team, was the first to sign up. The company has been part of Formula E since its inaugural season in 2014.

A common package will be given to each team to build an electric racing SUV. It will include specifications for framework, parts and tires. Teams will be free to develop their own bodywork and powertrains.
